The Gerry Weber Open 2008 was a tennis tournament that took place from June 9th to 15th, 2008 in Halle . It was part of the ATP Tour 2008 and was played outdoors on grass. In the same week the Orange Warsaw Open and the Artois Championships in London were held in Warsaw . Just like the Gerry Weber Open, both belonged to the International Series category .

Defending champion in the singles was Tomáš Berdych , who failed in the round of 16 against Sweden's Robin Söderling . In the final, the seeding and world number one Roger Federer prevailed in two sets 6: 3, 6: 4 against the local hero Philipp Kohlschreiber and did not even lose his serve during the entire tournament. The title was Federer's second title in 2008 after the Estoril Open and his 55th title overall. In Halle he was the record winner with five titles to date. In doubles, Simon Aspelin and Julian Knowle were the defending champions; However, they were eliminated in the first round. The pairing Michail Juschny and Mischa Zverev prevailed in the final with 3: 6, 6: 4, [10: 3] against Lukáš Dlouhý and Leander Paes . Zverev won his first ever ATP title.
