The St. Petersburg Open 2008 was a tennis tournament that took place from October 20 to 26, 2008 in St. Petersburg . It was part of the ATP Tour 2008 and was played indoors on a hard court. The same week the Grand Prix de Tennis was played in Lyon and the Davidoff Swiss Indoors Basel 2008 in Basel . Like the tournament in Saint Petersburg, both belonged to the International Series category .

Andy Murray defended his title from the previous year in the individual. In the final, the first seeding list from Great Britain won in two sets with 6: 1, 6: 1 against Kazakhs Andrei Golubew , who started as a qualifier in the main draw, and celebrated his eighth individual title. For Golubew it was the first final of his career. Daniel Nestor and Nenad Zimonjić were successful in doubles last year, but they did not compete again this year. In the final, Travis Parrott and Filip Polášek prevailed against Rohan Bopanna and Max Mirny with 3: 6, 7: 6 4 , [10: 8].

The field of participants in the individual competition consisted of 32 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The total prize money was $ 1,024,000; total financial liabilities were $ 1,049,000.
