Dominik Hrbatý (born January 4, 1978 in Bratislava , Czechoslovakia ) is a former Slovak tennis player .
Hrbatý won six ATP tournaments in his career (1998 in San Marino , 1999 in Prague , 2001 in Auckland and 2004 in Auckland, Adelaide and Marseille ) and was also in the final of six other tournaments. His greatest success in a Grand Slam tournament he achieved in 1999 when he reached the semi-finals at the French Open, where he was defeated by the eventual winner Andre Agassi in four sets. In his first professional season in 1996, he was named ATP Newcomer of the Year . On November 22, 2010, Hrbatý announced his retirement from professional tennis. Nevertheless, he took part in a total of four tournaments in 2011 and 2012.
Next to Nikolai Dawydenko, Hrbatý is the only player who has a positive match record against Rafael Nadal . In a total of four clashes, he was able to beat Nadal three times.
