Davide Sanguinetti (born August 25, 1972 in Viareggio ) is a former Italian tennis player .

Career

Sanguinetti attended the Hopman Tennis Academy in Florida from 1991 to 1992 and then studied economics at UCLA for two years . He completed his first professional season in 1993. Of six achieved ATP finals, he was able to win two in 2002, on the one hand in Milan against Roger Federer 7: 6, 4: 6, 6: 1 and in Delray Beach against Andy Roddick 6: 4 , 4: 6, 6: 4. He won his only title as a doubles player in 1997 with Dinu Pescariu in Umag . He also won ten Challenger tournaments.

His greatest success in a Grand Slam tournament was reaching the quarter-finals of Wimbledon in 1998. From 1998 to 2003 Sanguinetti played for the Italian Davis Cup team and completed a total of 22 matches.
