The 107th French Open 2008 took place from May 25th to June 8th, 2008 in Paris , France .

Defending champions in the singles were Rafael Nadal in the men and Justine Henin in the women. In the men's doubles were Mark Knowles and Daniel Nestor , in women's doubles Alicia Molik and Mara Santangelo , the defending champion. Nathalie Dechy and Andy Ram were the defending champions in mixed .

Since Justine Henin announced the end of her career in May 2008, she was unable to defend her title. She missed the opportunity to become the first woman in the Open Era to win the French Open four times in a row .

In the men's singles, Rafael Nadal, who did not drop a set during the tournament, won for the fourth time in a row, equaling Björn Borg's Open Era record . With her victory in women's singles, Ana Ivanović became the new number one in the women's world rankings . Unseen Pablo Cuevas and Luis Horna won in the men's doubles, Anabel Medina Garrigues and Virginia Ruano Pascual in the ladies doubles . Wiktoryja Asaranka and Bob Bryan won the mixed title .
