Larisa Neiland and Todd Woodbridge were the defending champions in mixed .
In the men's singles, Yevgeny Kafelnikow won his first Grand Slam title. In the women's singles there was a new edition of last year's final, and again Steffi Graf won against Arantxa Sánchez Vicario. Yevgeny Kafelnikow also won in the men's doubles, alongside Daniel Vacek . The title in women's doubles went to Lindsay Davenport and Mary Joe Fernández , while Patricia Tarabini and Javier Frana won in mixed .
