Defending champion in singles was Lukáš Rosol , in doubles the duo Juan Sebastián Cabal and Robert Farah .

The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 48 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The 16 top seeded players each received a bye into the second round.

Qualification for the Winston-Salem Open 2015 took place on August 22nd and 23rd, 2015. Four qualifying places were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament.
