The 48th Australian Championships were a Grand Slam tennis grass court tournament hosted by the ILTF . It took place from January 22nd to February 1st, 1960 in Brisbane , Australia .
The defending champions in the singles were Alex Olmedo for the men and Mary Carter Reitano for the women. In the men's doubles were Rod Laver and Bob Mark , in the women's doubles Renée Schuurman and Sandra Reynolds were the defending champions. In mixed, Sandra Reynolkds and Bob Mark were the defending champions.
