Chennai Open 2007

The Chennai Open 2007 was a tennis tournament that took place from January 1st to 7th, 2007 in Chennai . It was part of the ATP Tour 2007 and was played on a hard court. In the same week the Qatar Open took place in Doha and the Next Generation Adelaide International in Adelaide , which, like the Aircel Chennai Open, belong to the International Series category .

In the singles third seeded Xavier Malisse , who succeeded Croatian Ivan Ljubičić, won . In doubles the unseeded Belgian duo Xavier Malisse and Dick Norman won , who were able to prevail in the final against the also unseeded Spanish doubles Rafael Nadal and Bartolomé Salvá-Vidal , who started with a wildcard from the organizer .

The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 32 players, that of the double competition consisted of 16 pairs. Prize money of US $ 416,000 was played out and Thomas Karlberg acted as supervisor of the ATP .
