The Aircel Chennai Open 2013 was a tennis tournament held in Chennai from December 31, 2012 to January 6, 2013 . It was part of the ATP World Tour 2013 and was played outdoors on hard courts. In the same week the Brisbane International was played in Brisbane and the Qatar ExxonMobil Open in Doha , which, like the Aircel Chennai Open, belonged to the ATP World Tour 250 category .

Last year's winner in the individual was Milos Raonic , who took part in the tournament in Brisbane this year and was eliminated there in the round of 16. This year, the number two seeded Serb Janko Tipsarević and the Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut made it into the final. After losing the first set, the Serb was able to turn the game around and ultimately won clearly 3: 6, 6: 1 and 6: 3 and thus secured his quarter of an individual title on the ATP Tour. The French-speaking duo, consisting of the French Benoît Paire and the Swiss Stanislas Wawrinka , won doubles this year . They clearly won the final against the German duo Andre Begemann and Martin Emmrich in two sets with 6: 2 and 6: 1. For the duo it was the first joint title on the ATP Tour.

The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 28 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The four top seeded players each received a bye into the second round.
