Vishnu Vardhan (actually J [agadeesan]. Vishnuvardhan ; born July 27, 1987 in Secunderabad , Andhra Pradesh ) is an Indian tennis player .

Career

Vishnu Vardhan began playing tennis at the age of seven. So far he has participated in several ATP tournaments in India , each with the help of a wildcard . However, he could never achieve a victory. He achieved his first victory on the Challenger Tour in 2011 when he won with compatriot Karan Rastogi in Astana . At the 2010 Asian Games , he won the bronze medal in the team competition together with Somdev Devvarman , Sanam Singh and Karan Rastogi.

On June 26, 2012, the ITF announced that Vishnu Vardhan would compete in men's doubles at the Olympic Games in London due to a wild card . With partner Leander Paes he won the opening game against the Dutch Jean-Julien Rojer and Robin Haase , in the round of 16 they were then defeated by Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Michaël Llodra in three sets. Vishnu Vardhan was also allowed to compete in the individual competition as a successor, but there he lost his first round match against the Slovenian Blaž Kavčič with 2: 6, 2: 6.

He has played for the Indian Davis Cup team since 2011 .
