Toshihide Matsui ( Japanese 松井 俊英 , Matsui Toshihide ; born April 19, 1978 in Osaka ) is a Japanese tennis player .

life and career

Coming from Kita-ku , Osaka, he attended the private shōin high school in Yachiyo in Chiba Prefecture . At the age of 16 he went to Toronto and went to school there. He then attended Brigham Young University – Hawaii .

Toshihide Matsui mainly plays on the ATP Challenger Tour and the ITF Future Tour . So far he has celebrated one single and two double victories on the Future Tour. On the Challenger Tour he won four tournaments in doubles. On April 24, 2006 he broke through the top 300 in the world rankings for the first time and his highest ranking was a 261st place in June 2006.

2006 Toshihide Matsui played for the first time for the Japanese Davis Cup team . To date, he has been used in a total of three matches, in which he won his two singles games and two of his three doubles games.
