history
The city of Yachiyo ( 八千 代 町 ), which was founded in 1954 in Chiba County through the merger of the town of Ōwada with the village of Mutsumi , became the independent town of Yachiyo ( 八千 代 市Yachiyo-shi ) on January 1, 1967 .
