Jackson Withrow (born July 7, 1993 in Omaha , Nebraska ) is an American tennis player .

Career

College tennis

Jackson Withrow studied business administration at Texas A&M University until 2016 , where he also played college tennis . In doubles he reached the final of the US college championships in 2016 with his partner Arthur Rinderknech . There they were defeated by the duo Mackenzie McDonald and Martin Redlicki 4: 6, 1: 6.

Professional tour

Withrow is mainly on the ITF Future Tour and ATP Challenger Tour . There he only appeared in doubles, since he has never been able to qualify in singles. He celebrated his first success on the Challenger Tour with Austin Krajicek in Maui when he won the final against Bradley Klahn and Tennys Sandgren . Since then he has won three more Challengers.

Due to the success at the USTA Junior Championships 2011 in doubles, Withrow and his partner Jack Sock got a wildcard for the doubles competition at the US Open . There they lost to Mark Knowles and Xavier Malisse in the first round . In Cincinnati he played at the side of Sock again, but did not make it past the first round. In 2017 he received another wildcard for the US Open . This time he made it into the second round together with Austin Krajicek . Against Oliver Marach and Mate Pavić there was a clear defeat in two sets. In the same year Withrow also competed in the mixed competition at the US Open. With Nicole Melichar he lost his first round match. On March 5, 2018, he reached his previous career high in doubles in the world rankings .
