Karan Rastogi (born October 8, 1986 in Mumbai ) is an Indian - Hon - Kongnese tennis player .

Career

Rastogi started playing tennis at the age of three. As a junior he reached the semifinals of the Australian Open 2004 , which made him fourth in the junior world rankings. He was therefore considered a great talent, but could not meet the expectations placed in him: He reached his best place in the world rankings in February 2011 with rank 284.

Karan Rastogi has so far participated in four ATP tournaments, each with the help of a wildcard . He was able to win his only victory so far in Chennai against Thiago Alves in January 2007 . He appeared three times for India in the Davis Cup , but lost all games. At the Asian Games 2010 he won the bronze medal in the team competition together with Somdev Devvarman , Sanam Singh and Vishnu Vardhan .

Rastogi's best individual result on the ATP Challenger Tour was reaching a quarter-finals in April 2006. At future level, he was in 13 finals in the course of his career, of which he was able to win seven. In doubles, he has so far won two Challenger titles and four Future titles with various partners.
