On the eastern shore of the lake it has already grown together with Hyderabad, which is why it is often no longer perceived as an independent city, but as a part of Hyderabad. The Basilica of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary was built in 1850 .

Secunderabad has a large train station and the Begumpet airport. The city is now an important center for the Indian telecommunications and solar industries.
