The Spaniard Albert Montañés won the individual competition after he had only subsequently moved up into the main field. In the final he defeated Gaël Monfils, who started with a wildcard, 6-0 and 7-6 3 . For the first time since 2010, Montañés won a title on the World Tour and his sixth career title overall. In doubles, Johan Brunström and Raven Klaasen prevailed in the final 6: 3, 6: 2 against the Colombian doubles Juan Sebastián Cabal and Robert Farah . For Brunström it was the second title of his career after 2010, and the first for Klaasen.
The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 28 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The four top seeded players in the singles each got a bye into the second round.
The qualification for the Open de Nice Côte d'Azur 2013 took place on May 19 and 20, 2013. Four qualifying places were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament.
