Men's singles of the US Open 2013 .

Defending champion was Andy Murray , who lost to Swiss Stanislas Wawrinka in three sets with 4: 6, 3: 6 and 2: 6 in the quarter-finals . Jo-Wilfried Tsonga canceled his participation in the top ten of the world rankings at the time due to an injury. Shortly before the start of the tournament, James Blake announced that he would end his career after the US Open.

For the first time in the history of the US Open, no American reached the round of 16. Tim Smyczek , Jack Sock and John Isner were the last remaining US players to fail in the third round.

In the final, the second seeded Rafael Nadal defeated the top seeded Novak Đoković in four sets. He won his 13th Grand Slam title and the second title at the US Open after 2010 .

qualification

The qualification of the US Open 2013 took place for the men from August 20-23, 2013. 16 qualifying places were played that entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament.
