Mallorca Open 2000

The Mallorca Open 2000 was the 6th edition of the tennis clay court tournament on Mallorca . The tournament was part of the male ATP series as the International Series tournament . It took place together with the BMW Open in Munich and the US Men's Clay Court Championships in Orlando from May 1-7, 2000. With $ 475,000 in prize money for both singles and doubles, it was the highest-value tournament of the week. In singles, 32 players competed against each other, in doubles there were 16 pairings.

The defending champion was the Spaniard Juan Carlos Ferrero , who did not run this year. Instead, the fourth-placed Russian Marat Safin won , who celebrated the second title of the season and the third of his career.

The two qualifiers Michaël Llodra from France and Diego Nargiso from Italy won in doubles . They succeeded Lucas Arnold Ker and Tomás Carbonell . Carbonell and his partner Piet Norval had a goal this year , but failed in the first round. The same happened to Arnold Ker with his new partner Martín García . For Llodra this success was the first of his career, for Nargiso the first of the season and the fifth of his career.
