Waldbaum's Hamlet Cup 2000

The Waldbaum's Hamlet Cup 2000 was the 16th edition of the hard court tennis tournament in Long Island . The tournament was part of the ATP series as the International Series tournament . It took place from July 24th to 30th, 2000. The prize pool for both singles and doubles was $ 390,200. 48 players competed against each other in singles and 16 pairings in doubles. All seeded single players received a bye into the second round.

The defending champion in the singles was the Swede Magnus Norman , who was able to defend his title successfully this year. He defeated Thomas Enqvist in three sets in the all-Swedish final . It was Norman's fourth title in the 2000 season and the eleventh success of his career.

In doubles, the unset pairing consisting of the American Jonathan Stark and Kevin Ullyett from Zimbabwe won. They succeeded the two Frenchmen Olivier Delaître and Fabrice Santoro , who both did not run this year. It was Stark's only title of the season and the 14th of his career, the first of the season for Ullyett and the eighth title of his career. It was the first time that they could win a tournament in this constellation.
