Salem Open 2000

The Salem Open 2000 was the 25th edition of the hard court tennis tournament in Hong Kong . The tournament was part of the ATP series as the International Series tournament . It took place from October 2nd to 8th, 2000. The prize pool for both singles and doubles was $ 350,000. In singles, 32 players competed against each other, in doubles there were 16 pairings.

The defending champion in the singles was the American Andre Agassi , who did not take part in the tournament this year. Instead, the third-placed German Nicolas Kiefer won . For Kiefer it was the second title of the season and his sixth tournament success.

The pairing of Wayne Black and Kevin Ullyett from Zimbabwe won in doubles . They succeeded the two Australians James Greenhalgh and Grant Silcock , who both did not run this year. For Black it was the first title of the season, while Ullyett had with it the second title. It was also the ninth career title for Ullyett and fourth for Black. They achieved the previous successes with various other partners.
