The 1993/1994 snooker season included 18 professional snooker tournaments that were held between September 22, 1993 and the World Cup final on May 2, 1994.
For the third time in a row, the Scot Stephen Hendry won the world title and with two more tournament wins and two second places he defended first place in the snooker world rankings . The later multiple world champion Ronnie O'Sullivan celebrated his first tournament victories on the Snooker Main Tour and the Thai James Wattana won his home tournament - the Thailand Open - for the first time.
The rule introduced a season earlier to equip tournaments with minor ranking status (i.e. 0.1 times the value for the snooker world ranking compared to a normal ranking tournament) has been abolished again. The Strachan Challenges and the Benson & Hedges Championship , which had been scheduled as a minor ranking tournament a year earlier , were downgraded to an invitation tournament. In the following season 94/95 the Strachan Challenges were then completely abolished.
