Wembley [ wɛmbli ] is part of the London borough of Brent , in which the famous Wembley Stadium is located. The Wembley Arena , which reopened in April 2006 after extensive renovations, is also located here. The professional tennis championships were held in Wembley until 1999.
history
Wembley used to be a wealthy part of London with a high Jewish population. Since the 1970s, Wembley has seen a large influx of immigrants, mostly from India , Eastern Europe , the Caribbean and Africa .
Wembley also had a large number of manufacturing plants, but most of them closed in the 1980s.
