US Men's Clay Court Championships 2000

The US Men's Clay Court Championships in 2000 were the 32nd edition of the tennis clay court tournament in Orlando . It was the seventh and final time the tournament was held there - it moved to Houston in the 2001 season . The tournament was part of the male ATP series as the International Series tournament . It took place together with the BMW Open in Munich and the Mallorca Open from May 1 to 7, 2000. Prize money for both singles and doubles was $ 325,000. In singles, 32 players competed against each other, in doubles there were 16 pairings.

The defending champion in the singles was the Swede Magnus Norman , who did not compete this year. Instead, the qualifier Fernando González from Chile won, who was able to celebrate his first title on the ATP tour.

In doubles, the unset pairing consisting of Leander Paes from France and Jan Siemerink from the Netherlands won. They succeeded Jim Courier and Todd Woodbridge . Courier did not appear again this year, while Woodbridge and his successful partner Mark Woodforde were eliminated in the second round. For Paes it was the second win of the season and the 20th of his career. With this success, Siemerink celebrated the first of the season and the 15th of his career.
