The Garanti Koza Sofia Open 2016 was a tennis tournament that took place in Sofia from February 1st to 7th . It was part of the ATP World Tour 2016 and was played indoors on a hard court. In the same week were in Montpellier , the Open Sud de France and in Quito , the Ecuador Quito Open played. Like the Garanti Koza Sofia Open, both belonged to the ATP World Tour 250 category .

Roberto Bautista Agut won the first edition of the tournament . In the final, the first seeding list prevailed 6: 3 and 6: 4 against Viktor Troicki and was able to record his fourth tournament victory and his second after Auckland in 2016. In doubles, the pairing of Wesley Koolhof and Matwé Middelkoop won the final against Philipp Oswald and Adil Shamasdin with 5: 7, 7: 6 9 and [10: 6]. They each won their first ATP double title.

The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 28 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The total prize money was 463,520 euros; the total financial liabilities are 520,070 euros.

Qualification for the Garanti Koza Sofia Open 2016 took place from January 31 to February 1, 2016. Four qualifying places were played, which entitle them to participate in the main draw of the tournament.
