The BB&T Atlanta Open 2016 was a tennis tournament that took place in Atlanta from July 27th to August 2nd, 2016 . It was part of the ATP World Tour 2016 and was played on hard court. The BB&T Atlanta Open was part of the ATP World Tour 250 category and took place a week before the Rio Olympics .

The defending champions were John Isner in singles and Bob and Mike Bryan in doubles .

The field of participants in the single competition consisted of 28 players, that of the doubles competition consisted of 16 pairs. The four top seeded players each received a bye into the second round. The total prize pool was $ 618,030; total financial liabilities were $ 693,425.
