Christopher Eubanks (born May 5, 1996 in Atlanta ) is an American tennis player .

Career

Eubanks has only taken part in a professional tennis tournament once. In 2015 he started in Atlanta at the BB&T Atlanta Open with a wildcard in singles and doubles. In this debut on the ATP World Tour he was eliminated in the singles against Radek Štěpánek with 2: 6, 2: 6. In doubles he made it to the semi-finals with Donald Young after they defeated the four seeded Mate Pavić and Michael Venus . In the semifinals they were defeated by Bob and Mike Bryan 2-6 , 4-6. Like Donald Young, Eubanks was coached by his parents Ilona and Donald Young senior at the beginning of his career.

In 2016, Eubanks played tournaments regularly. It was able to qualify for a world tournament and reach the semi-finals of a challenger in Champaign . He finished the year on rank 651. Eubanks started 2017 with two finals on the third-rate Future Tour , one of which he won. In July he got his first two victories on the World Tour in Atlanta . Against Jared Donaldson , he also managed his first win against a top 100 player. After all, he qualified for a Masters in Cincinnati for the first time and got a wildcard for his Grand Slam premiere at the US Open . In Monterrey he achieved his first Challenger tournament victory in doubles. In the singles, Eubanks won his first title in April 2018. In León he prevailed in the final against John-Patrick Smith in three sets. Through this success he achieved his best placement in the world rankings with a 184th place .
