Yoshihito Nishioka ( Japanese 西岡 良 仁 , Nishioka Yoshihito ; born September 27, 1995 in Tsu ) is a Japanese tennis player .
Career
Yoshihito Nishioka mainly plays on the ATP Challenger Tour and the ITF Future Tour . So far, he has celebrated five single and one double victories on the Future Tour. So far, he has won two tournaments in singles on the Challenger Tour. At the US Open 2014 he was in the main draw of a Grand Slam tournament for the first time. On July 11, 2016, he broke through the top 100 of the world rankings in singles for the first time and his highest ranking was a 93rd place in the same month.
In 2017 he reached the quarter-finals on the World Tour in Acapulco and the last sixteen at the Indian Wells Masters as Lucky Loser, in which he was defeated by Stan Wawrinka . In the world rankings he rose to number 58, his previous highest position. At the Miami Open in March, he suffered a cruciate ligament rupture in his left knee, which left him on sideline until the end of the year.
At the Australian Open 2018 he made his comeback on the tour. In September 2018 he won his first title on the ATP Tour in Shenzhen , and as a qualifier he beat French Pierre-Hugues Herbert in three sets in the final .
In 2015 he played for the Japanese Davis Cup team for the first time .
