Vasily Olegowitsch Polovnikov
Wassili Olegowitsch Polownikow ( Russian Василий Олегович Половников ; born April 28, 1986 in Kabardino-Balkaria ) is a Russian weightlifter .
Career
Polownikow was 2003 European Youth Champion, 2005 and 2006 European Junior Champion and 2006 Junior Vice World Champion. Among the active players, he won the silver medal in the class up to 85 kg at the 2008 European Championships in Lignano Sabbiadoro . In 2009 he became Russian champion in the class up to 94 kg and set a new national record in the snatch with 226 kg. However, he was tested positive for metandienone during a training check at the end of the year and was banned for two years. In 2014 he was runner-up at the Russian championships in the class up to 105 kg.
