Delray Beach is a city in Palm Beach County in the US state of Florida with 60,522 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Delray Beach is not far from the Atlantic Ocean between the two cities of Boynton Beach and Boca Raton .
The city has a total area of 41.2 km 2 . Of this, 39.8 km 2 are land and 1.4 km 2 or 3.34% are water.
Demographic data
According to the 2010 census, the then 60,522 inhabitants were distributed over 34,156 households. The population density was 1520.7 inh / km². 65.7% of the population identified themselves as whites , 28.0% as African American , 0.2% as Indians and 1.8% as Asian Americans . 2.6% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 1.7% to several ethnic groups. 9.5% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .
In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 19.8% of all households and persons aged 65 or over lived in 38.0% of all households. 51.8% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.18 people and the average family size was 2.93 people.
18.2% of the population were younger than 20 years, 24.3% were 20 to 39 years old, 27.2% were 40 to 59 years old, and 30.1% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 46 years. 48.1% of the population were male and 51.9% were female.
The median annual income was $ 49,823, with 13.9% of the population living below the poverty line.
In 2000, English was the first language of 75.44% of the population, 11.73% spoke Haitian , 7.02% spoke Spanish, and 5.81% had another mother tongue.

The city also has a train station on the Tri-Rail- operated railway line from Mangonia Park to Miami Airport . The Amtrak also offers direct connections to New York City from here.

The crime rate in 2010 was 478 points (US average: 266 points) in the high range. There were three murders, 22 rapes, 198 robberies, 367 personal injuries, 724 break-ins, 2423 thefts, 193 car thefts and seven arson attacks.
