Lake Clarke Shores is a city in Palm Beach County in the US state of Florida with 3376 inhabitants (as of 2010).

geography

The city borders directly on West Palm Beach to the southwest . Florida State Road 882 runs through the urban area , and Interstate 95 in a north-south direction also passes in the immediate vicinity .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 3,376 inhabitants were distributed over 1,467 households. The population density was 1250.4 inh / km². 90.7% of the population identified themselves as whites, 2.7% as African American , 0.1% as Indians and 1.5% as Asian Americans . 3.2% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 2.5% to several ethnic groups. 24.7% of the population was Hispanic or Latino .

In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 26.9% of all households and persons aged 65 and over lived in 32.3% of all households. 69.0% of the households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.42 people and the average family size was 2.87 people.

20.8% of the population were younger than 20 years old, 20.1% were 20 to 39 years old, 33.5% were 40 to 59 years old, and 25.6% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 47 years. 48.3% of the population were male and 51.7% were female.

The median annual income was $ 77,778, with 7.2% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the first language of 84.76% of the population and Spanish was spoken by 15.23%.

The crime rate in 2010 was 180 points (US average: 266 points) in the low range. There was one robbery, eight personal injuries, 19 break-ins, 50 thefts and seven car thefts.
