Tequesta is a municipality in Palm Beach County in the US state of Florida with 5629 inhabitants (as of 2010).

geography

Tequesta is the northernmost municipality in Palm Beach County and the metropolitan area of ​​Miami . It is located approximately 15 miles north of West Palm Beach . The community area is traversed on a shared route by US Highway 1 and Florida State Roads A1A and 5 . The community is bordered by Martin County to the north and Jupiter to the south .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 5629 inhabitants were distributed among 3257 households. The population density was 1250.9 inh / km². 95.8% of the population identified themselves as whites , 0.6% as African American , 0.1% as Indians and 1.3% as Asian Americans . 1.1% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 1.1% to several ethnic groups. 6.1% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .

The crime rate in 2010 was 147 points (US average: 266 points) in the low range. There were three rapes, nine assaults, 23 break-ins and 68 thefts.
