Belle Glade is a city in Palm Beach County in the US state Florida with 17,467 inhabitants (as of 2010). The urban area has an area of ​​12.1 km², of which 0.1 km² is water surface. Belle Glade is the largest city within an area of ​​2.86 million acres (11,600 km²) in the subtropical Everglades in the heart of Florida.

Belle Glade is located in southeast Florida, on Lake Okeechobee , around 100 km northwest of Hialeah and 50 km from the Atlantic Ocean .

history

On April 9, 1928, Belle Glade, which was shortly before called "Hillsboro", was added as a city, with a population of about 500 people.
