Barkevious Levon "Keke" Mingo (born October 4, 1990 in Belle Glade , Florida ) is an American American football player. He plays for the Chicago Bears as a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL). With the New England Patriots he won the Super Bowl LI .

college

Mingo, who also excelled in high school as a track and field athlete , attended Louisiana State University and played for their team, the Tigers, successfully college football , where he was able to set a total of 119 tackles and achieve 15 sacks .

NFL

Mingo was selected by the Cleveland Browns as the 6th player in the 2013 NFL Draft in the first round . Although he had to be hospitalized with a pulmonary contusion in the preseason game against the Detroit Lions , he played in 15 games in his rookie season , three of them as a starter . In the following two years he was also regularly used in the Defense of the Browns.

On August 25, 2016, it was announced that Mingo had been traded to the New England Patriots . In return, the Browns received the Patriots' draft rights for the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft.

On March 9, 2017, he signed a one-year contract in the amount of 2.5 million at the Indianapolis Colts dollars .

On March 14, 2018, he signed a two-year contract for $ 10.1 million with the Seattle Seahawks .

On September 1, 2019, Mingo was traded to the Houston Texans along with linebacker Jacob Martin and a 2020 third-round draft pick. The Seattle Seahawks received Jadeveon Clowney on this trade defensive end / outside linebacker .

At the beginning of April 2020, he agreed on a one-year contract with the Chicago Bears .
