Joseph F. Judge (* 31 December 1981 in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania ) is an American American football trainer. He is currently the head coach of the New York Giants in the NFL . Before that, he worked for many years as an assistant coach with the New England Patriots , with whom he won the Super Bowl three times .

Career

After graduating from high school, Judge began playing for Mississippi State University as a quarterback and on the special teams. In 2004 he ended his active career and began working as an assistant trainer at his university the following year. After a brief stint at Birmingham-Southern College, he became Special Teams Assistant at the University of Alabama in 2009 . With them he was able to win the BSC National Championship twice before he joined the New England Patriots in 2012 under head coach Bill Belichick . Initially, he was the Special Teams Assistant there, and from 2015 even Special Teams Coordinator . During this time he won the Super Bowl three times : in 2015 , 2017 and 2019 .

On January 8, 2020, Judge was named the New York Giants' new Head Coach . It is his first stop as head coach.
