LeGarrette Blount Montez (* 5. December 1986 in Madison , Florida ) is an American American football poker players in the position of running backs . He last played for the Detroit Lions in the National Football League (NFL) and is currently a free agent .

Career

college

Blount played his first two years in college football for East Mississippi Community College , scoring more than 1,000 yards in each running game . After the 2007 season he moved to the University of Oregon , where he ran 1,002 yards in his first season and set a new university record with 17 touchdowns .

After the Oregon Ducks lost the first game of the 2009 season at 8:19 against Boise State , Blount knocked down an opponent and was suspended for the remainder of the season. After eight games, this ban was lifted and Blount was allowed to play again for the Oregon Ducks. However, since his successor, LaMichael James , performed well in the meantime, he was hardly ever used.

NFL

Tennessee Titans

In the 2010 NFL Draft , Blount was not selected by any team. He signed a contract with the Tennessee Titans after the draft , but was released before the start of the regular season .

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Two days later, Blount was signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers . He scored 1,939 yards in running play and 13 touchdowns for the Buccaneers in three years .

New England Patriots

After the 2012 season he was exchanged for the New England Patriots for running back Jeffery Demps and a draft right in the seventh round of the 2013 NFL Draft.

On January 11, 2014 Blount set a new franchise record for the Patriots with four touchdowns in the 43:22 win in the play-off game against the Indianapolis Colts . In the NFL, only Ricky Watters scored more touchdowns in a play-off game for the San Francisco 49ers - five against the New York Giants in the 1993 season .

Pittsburgh Steelers
