James White (* 3. February 1992 in Fort Lauderdale , Florida ) is an American American Footballer in the National Football League (NFL). He plays for the New England Patriots as a running back .

college

White played from 2010 to 2013 at the University of Wisconsin – Madison for the Wisconsin Badgers .

In total, he came to 4,015 yards and 45 touchdowns in 643 runs and caught 73 balls for 670 yards and 3 touchdowns.

NFL

White was selected in the 4th round in the NFL Draft 2014 by the New England Patriots in 130th place overall.

2014 (rookie season)

In his 2014 rookie season , White only made three appearances and was not yet an integral part of the team. Nevertheless, he was able to win the Super Bowl ( XLIX ) for the first time this year with the Patriots .

2015

White was used more often in the 2015 season and was particularly impressive in the passing game . He caught 40 balls for 410 yards and 4 touchdowns this season. Even in the running game , he was able to score a touchdown twice.

He made his first professional touchdown on matchday 11 of the season against the Buffalo Bills .

2016

White was now an integral part of the Patriots offensive and ran 166 yards in 39 runs in the 2016 season and caught 60 balls for 551 yards and managed 5 touchdowns.

Super Bowl LI

He reached the Super Bowl again this season with the Patriots and was again AFC Champion . The Patriots won the Super Bowl LI against the Atlanta Falcons thanks in part to a very strong and record-breaking performance by White.

White managed a total of 3 touchdowns and a two-point conversion in the game . He ran 29 yards and 2 touchdowns, including the game-winning touchdown in overtime , and caught 14 balls for 110 yards and a touchdown. He drew level with the previous record holder Terrell Davis , who also managed 3 touchdowns in a Super Bowl. This even became Super Bowl MVP in Super Bowl XXXII , which White was denied because his teammate Tom Brady won this award.

2017

On April 18, 2017, White extended his one-year contract with the Patriots prematurely for three years.
