college
Georgia (2014-2017)
Sony Michel played for the Georgia Bulldogs as running back at the University of Georgia for four years . During his four years at college, Michel formed a running back duo with Nick Chubb , who was selected in the second round by the Cleveland Browns in 2018 . Together, Michel and Chubb broke the college duo's record for most running yards, replacing Hall of Famer Eric Dickerson and partner Craig James .
In his sophomore season at college, Michel had the most runs and passes of his college career. This was due to the departure of Todd Gurley , who moved to the NFL, and the injury of Chubb. In his third year of college, his stats went down as he got less playtime with Chubb back to health. Michel had his best season last year in college. He ran 1,227 yards at an average of 7.9 yards per run and scored 16 touchdowns . The 2017 season was also the most successful season for the entire team during Michel's time at college. For the first three years at college, Michel won the bowl game with the Bulldogs and always scored at least one touchdown. In 2017 he was able to win the division title with Georgia with 12-1 in the regular season. You could also win the Conference for the first time since 2005, by beating Auburn in the SEC Championship Game.
Michel could also qualify with Georgia for the College Football Playoffs . In the Rose Bowl , the semi-finals of the playoffs, you could win in the second overtime against Oklahoma . Michel scored three touchdowns in the game and decided the game for his team with his last touchdown in overtime. In the final, Georgia narrowly lost to Alabama in overtime.
