Christopher James Hogan (* 24. October 1988 in Wyckoff , New Jersey ) is an American American football poker players on the position of wide receiver . With the New England Patriots he won the Super Bowl twice ( LI and LIII ). He has played for the Carolina Panthers in the National Football League (NFL) since the 2019 season . In 2011, the San Francisco 49ers initially signed him as an undrafted free agent , before he came to his first assignments in the NFL from 2012 at the Buffalo Bills . Hogan played college football at Monmouth University .

Career

College career

Christopher Hogan joined Monmouth University in 2010 after graduating from Penn State with a lacrosse scholarship. He played a season for the Monmouth Hawks and came here to three touchdowns with only twelve passes .

NFL

San Francisco 49ers

Hogan signed an undrafted free agent contract with the San Francisco 49ers on July 27, 2011 . He was released from the team on September 3rd.

New York Giants

Nine days after being fired from the 49ers, Hogan signed a contract with the New York Giants , but was fired only eleven days later on September 23.

Miami Dolphins

On December 27, 2011, Hogan was signed by the Miami Dolphins . On January 3, 2012, he signed a reserve contract and was in the reserve squad until September 11, 2012. But he was eventually fired by the Dolphins.

Buffalo Bills

Less than two months later, on November 6, 2012, Hogan was signed by the Buffalo Bills . On December 18, he was appointed to the active squad, but did not make his first appearance until the 2013 season . In 2014 , he scored his first touchdown in the NFL. He came to 426 yards with 41 passes caught and four touchdowns. In the 2015 season he played for the third season in a row in all games of the Bills. His first touchdown of the season was against his former club, the Miami Dolphins. Hogan ended the season with 36 passes caught for 450 yards on two touchdowns.

New England Patriots

His contract with the Bills expired at the end of the season, so the New England Patriots signed Hogan on March 10, 2016 for three years for 12 million US dollars . On matchday 5, which was his most successful matchday to date, he came against the Cleveland Browns to 114 yards with four trapped passes. In the first six games of the 2016 season alone , he played from the start and scored 275 yards on 13 passes caught for a touchdown. On February 5, 2017, Chris Hogan won his first Super Bowl ( LI ) with the Patriots in a dramatic game in which he contributed 57 yards from 4 trapped passes.

In the 2018 season he played 15 of the 16 regular season games and was used in all three play-off games. On February 3, 2019, he won the Super Bowl ( Super Bowl LIII ) for the second time with the Patriots .

On April 12, 2019, the Carolina Panthers announced that they had signed Hogan for one year.
