Nathaniel Perry Solder (* 12. April 1988 in Denver , Colorado ) is an American American football poker players on the position of offensive tackles . He has played for the New York Giants in the National Football League (NFL) since 2018 . With the New England Patriots , who had selected him in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft , he won the Super Bowl XLIX against the Seattle Seahawks and the Super Bowl LI against the Atlanta Falcons .
Career
Similar to his German tackle counterpart in the New England Patriots , Sebastian Vollmer , Solder came to college as a tight end and initially sat out for a year (" Redshirt "). He caught three passes in 2007, but was then asked to build muscle mass in order to play as a tackle. From 2006 to 2009 he increased from 104 kg to 138 kg.
When there was no play, Solder u. a. in Guatemala in an orphanage and in Italy after the 2009 L'Aquila earthquake .
In the last year of his college career, he was appointed by all relevant organizations by mutual agreement ("consensus") to the "2010 College Football All-America Team" and was also one of three candidates for the Outland Trophy . 2011 season

The New England Patriots won Super Bowl XLIX 28:24 on February 1, 2015 against the Seattle Seahawks . One year after the cancer diagnosis, he announced it in April 2015 on the occasion of the "National Testicular Cancer Awareness Month".
2015 season
The 2015 season brought Solder a contract extension worth approximately $ 20 million. In the game against Dallas, he suffered a serious injury to his right biceps, which ended the season for him.
In March 2018, he signed a four-year deal with the New York Giants for $ 62 million, 35 of which was guaranteed, making him the highest-paid offensive lineman in the league.
