Donald Scott Jones Jr. (born July 5, 1980 in Baton Rouge , Louisiana , United States ) is a retired American football player in the position of punter . He played in the National Football League (NFL) for the Seattle Seahawks , Miami Dolphins , St. Louis Rams , Houston Texans , Philadelphia Eagles and Los Angeles Chargers . With the Eagles Jones won the Super Bowl LII .

Early years

Jones attended high school in his hometown of Baton Rouge . He later attended Louisiana State University .

NFL

Seattle Seahawks

Jones was selected in the seventh round in the 2004 NFL Draft in 224th place by the Seattle Seahawks . Here, however, he only stayed one season.

Miami Dolphins

After the training camp in 2005 he was first added to the Practice Squad . However, before the season started, he was added to the 53-man roster. Here he stayed for two seasons.

St. Louis Rams

On April 13, 2007, the St. Louis Rams signed him . He stayed here until after the 2011 season .

Houston Texans

On March 30, 2012, Jones signed a one-year contract with the Houston Texans .

Philadelphia Eagles

On March 25, 2013, Jones signed a contract with the Philadelphia Eagles . On March 11, 2013, he renewed his contract with the Eagles. In 2016 he signed a three-year contract with the Eagles. With the Eagles he won the Super Bowl LII against the New England Patriots .

Los Angeles Chargers

On October 2, 2018, Jones joined the Los Angeles Chargers .
