Originally he was recruited as a defensive tackle , but after a few missions in various positions in the defensive line he was converted to a tight end , where he was able to achieve a total of four touchdowns .
NFL
Buffalo Bills
In the NFL Draft 2004 Peters was not taken into account, but was later signed by the Buffalo Bills as a free agent . In his rookie season, he was in the special teams and occasionally both as a tight end and as an offensive tackle. In the following season he also held various positions, but was increasingly called up as an offensive lineman. In 2006 he was finally able to establish himself as a starting offensive tackle, and in 2007 he was appointed to the Pro Bowl for the first time . In the summer of 2008 there were increasing quarrels between Peters, who was dissatisfied with his contract, and the Bills. He stayed away from the preparation in part, was fined, but was then used in 13 games and was again called to the Pro Bowl.
Philadelphia Eagles
In 2009, Peters moved to the Philadelphia Eagles , who in return ceded their draft rights to the first and fourth round of the 2009 NFL Draft and the 6th round in 2010 to the Bills. He thanked his team with consistently good performances. With the exception of the 2012 season, in which he had to pass due to injury, he has been called up to the Pro Bowl every year. After Peters tore his cruciate ligament in the middle of the season in 2017, he was able to play again in all 16 games and 79% of the offensive snaps in 2018 . On March 11, 2019, the Eagles gave him a one-year contract despite his age of 37.
