Larry Darnell Fitzgerald, Jr. (* 31 August 1983 in Minneapolis , Minnesota ) is an American American football poker players on the position of wide receiver . He plays for the Arizona Cardinals in the National Football League (NFL). 2004 he was ranked third from the Cardinals drafted . He previously played college football for the University of Pittsburgh .

Fitzgerald played for the University of Pittsburgh Panthers from 2002 to 2004 . He was considered one of the best wide receivers in college football during his time in Pittsburgh. In 2003 he received various awards for this reason, including the Walter Camp Award (best college player ) and the Fred Biletnikoff Award (best wide receiver).
In 26 games for Pitt , Fitzgerald caught 161 passes for 2,677 yards . He set the school record of 34 caught touchdowns and broke the record for games with pass catches over 100 yards (14). He was also the first player in Pittsburgh to capture 1,000 yards in consecutive seasons. Fitzgerald also has the NCAA record with 18 games in a row with at least one touchdown .

In 2004 he was selected as the third player in the NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals after Eli Manning and Robert Gallery . In his first five seasons in the NFL, he caught 425 passes for nearly 6,000 yards , scoring 46 touchdowns for the Cardinals. Because of his good performance, he was elected to the Pro Bowl in 2005, 2007 and 2008 . He finished these three seasons with more than 1,400 yards.
Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin formed one of the best wide receiver duos in the league. In the 2008 season, both scored more than 1,000 yards, which was also achieved by the Cardinals' third wide receiver, Steve Breaston . This succeeded only four other receiver trios in the league before the three. His sporting role model is the former wide receiver Cris Carter .
On February 1, 2009, he got two touchdowns in Super Bowl XLIII . That wasn't enough to win, the Cardinals were defeated by the Pittsburgh Steelers 23:27, but he improved Jerry Rice's record for the most touchdowns in a post-season to seven touchdowns.
On matchday 13 of the 2015 season, he became the eleventh player in NFL history to achieve 1,000 pass catches in his career. In the Divisional Playoffs of the same year he contributed with eight pass catches for 176 yards to the victory against the Green Bay Packers . The game ended after a touchdown from Fitzgerald 26:20 after overtime. However, the Cardinals lost to the Carolina Panthers in the NFC Championship Game a week later .
In the following season he started his 100th touchdown on the first day of play against the New England Patriots.
