Ndamukong NWGA Suh (* 6. January 1987 in Portland , Oregon ) is an American American football poker players on the position of the defensive tackles . He plays for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the National Football League (NFL).

Career

college

Suh played from 2005 to 2009 for the College of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln , the Nebraska Cornhuskers . In his first game for the Cornhuskers against Wake Forest, Suh injured his knee with a tackle so badly that he had to pass injured for the rest of the season.

In his sophomore year, Suh could play all 14 games for the Cornhuskers, but only as a substitute. In 2007 Suh became a regular on his team and was able to end the season with 39 tackles.

He had his sporting breakthrough in college in his third year in 2008. He started in all games and ended the season with 76 tackles, 19 of which caused the opponent to lose space, 7.5 sacks and two interceptions , both of which led to touchdowns in the opposing team End zone could carry. He also had a touchdown reception when he played fullback in the offense . However, he had his best year at college in 2009. Meanwhile an undisputed starter and considered one of the best defensive tackles, he was able to improve again. Suh was named National Player of the Year by the Associated Press and made it to the finals to win the Heisman Trophy , which he didn't win , the best college player of the year. He was also Defensive Player of the Year in the Big 12 Conference and was seen by many experts as the first pick in the NFL Draft . The St. Louis Rams had this , and many expected Suh to be drafted by the Rams. However, they chose quarterback Sam Bradford , the 2008 Heisman Trophy winner. Thus, the Detroit Lions secured his services by selecting him second. Suh signed a five-year contract with the Lions.

Suh canceled his participation in the Pro Bowl because of shoulder surgery.

Due to an injury to Lions kicker Jason Hanson , Suh made a point-after-touchdown attempt once in his rookie season , but only hit the post. The reason for this was that Suh often converted short field goal attempts in training.
