NFL and CFL

The performances shown earned him the NFL Rookie of the Year award at the end of the 2006 season . Because of his popularity, he was featured on the prestigious cover of the Madden NFL 2008 video game, released in the summer of 2007 .
In his second season, Young succeeded in pushing the team into the wild card play-offs despite a thigh injury , although his mileage, in particular the yards scored per attempt, fell well below the values of his rookie season.
In 2008 he injured his knee in the opening game and was replaced by Kerry Collins . After his recovery, Young remained in the role of backup as the Collins-directed offense won ten games in a row.
His last regular season game in the NFL he played in 2011 for the Philadelphia Eagles , his last NFL preseason game in 2013 for the Green Bay Packers , where he was sacked before the start of the regular season. In 2014 he was briefly under contract with the Cleveland Browns . After his release from the Browns, he resigned from the NFL. In March 2017, the Saskatchewan Roughriders from the Canadian Football League signed Young, who was supposed to fight for the backup role behind Kevin Glenn , with a two-year contract with no guaranteed money. After Young injured himself in training, he was released by the Roughriders on June 17, 2017.
