Rudolf Peil

Rudolf Peil (born September 15, 1901 in Cologne ; † January 27, 1983 ) was a German Roman Catholic prelate , catechist and religious educator .

Life

Rudolf Peil was ordained a priest in 1924 after studying philosophy and Catholic theology. He worked as a religion teacher from 1924 to 1941. In 1932 he was awarded a doctorate in Bonn with the work Concrete Girls' Pedagogy, Attempt at the Scientific Recording of the Pedagogical Act . PhD. He was pastor from 1941 to 1951 and also lecturer (from 1946) and professor (from 1950) for religion and religious education at the Pedagogical Academy, later at the Pedagogical University of Rhineland .

In 1969 he was appointed Knight of the Order of Knights of the Holy Sepulcher by Cardinal Grand Master Eugène Tisserant , Dean of the College of Cardinals, and invested on December 6, 1969 by Wilhelm Cleven , Grand Prior of the Order. He was last Commander of the Order.
