Lake Harbor is a census-designated place (CDP) in Palm Beach County in the US state of Florida with 45 inhabitants (as of 2010).

geography

Lake Harbor is located on the south bank of Lake Okeecho and at the beginning of the Miami Canal and is located around 80 km west of West Palm Beach . The CDP is affected by US Highway 27 ( SR 80 ).

history

In 1947 a branch of the Florida East Coast Railway from Fort Pierce to Lake Harbor was opened.

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 45 inhabitants were distributed over 22 households. The population density was 13.2 inh / km². 73.3% of the population identified themselves as white and 17.8% as African American . 8.9% said they belonged to another ethnic group. 20.0% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 13.6% of all households and persons aged 65 and over lived in 36.4% of all households. 68.2% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.05 people and the average family size was 2.40 people.

13.3% of the population were younger than 20 years old, 8.8% were 20 to 39 years old, 33.3% were 40 to 59 years old, and 44.3% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 57 years. 46.7% of the population were male and 53.3% were female.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 100% of the population.
