Royal Palm Estates is a census-designated place (CDP) in Palm Beach County in the US state of Florida with a population of 3,025 (as of 2010).

geography

Royal Palm Estates borders the city of Haverhill to the north and is approximately 10 km southwest of West Palm Beach . The CDP is affected by US Highway 98 ( SR 80 ) and Florida State Road 809 and borders Palm Beach Airport to the east .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 3,025 inhabitants were distributed over 829 households. The population density was 1440.5 inh / km². 58.3% of the population identified themselves as whites, 25.3% as African American , 0.6% as Indians and 0.9% as Asian Americans . 11.6% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 3.4% to several ethnic groups. 47.8% of the population was Hispanic or Latino .

In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 47.9% of all households and persons aged 65 and over lived in 15.1% of all households. 75.3% of the households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 3.22 people and the average family size was 3.51 people.

32.1% of the population were younger than 20 years, 30.9% were 20 to 39 years old, 25.8% were 40 to 59 years old, and 11.4% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 32 years. 52.2% of the population were male and 47.8% were female.

The median annual income was $ 45,257, with 25.8% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the first language of 65.12% of the population, 33.76% spoke Spanish and 1.12% spoke Haitian .
