Wellington is a municipality in Palm Beach County in the US state of Florida with 56,508 inhabitants (as of 2010).
geography
West Palm Beach is about 20 kilometers northeast of the community . The community area is affected by the US Highways 98 and 441 as well as the Florida State Roads 7 , 80 , 91 (Florida's Turnpike) , 700 and 882 .
Demographic data
According to the 2010 census, the then 56,508 inhabitants were distributed over 22,685 households. The population density was 702.8 inh / km². 80.0% of the population identified themselves as whites, 10.4% as African American , 0.2% as Indians and 3.8% as Asian Americans . 3.1% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 2.5% to several ethnic groups. 19.4% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .
In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 43.0% of all households and persons aged 65 or over lived in 22.2% of all households. 79.1% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.87 people and the average family size was 3.22 people.
29.8% of the population were younger than 20 years, 20.3% were 20 to 39 years old, 33.7% were 40 to 59 years old, and 16.0% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 40 years. 48.2% of the population were male and 51.8% were female.
The median annual income was $ 78,268, with 8.1% of the population living below the poverty line.
In 2000, 83.52% of the population spoke English as their mother tongue, 12.18% spoke Spanish and 4.30% had another mother tongue.

Sports
Wellington is world famous for its equestrian events . Jumping, hunting, dressage and polo tournaments are held there for around 40 weeks a year, from January to April.
Wellington hosts the Winter Equestrian Festival as well as the Global Dressage Festival . Wellington is also one of the largest polo sites in the world.
Many Canadian and US equestrians live in Wellington - at least over the winter months.

The Wellington Amphitheater shows free movies, music and comedy shows and among other events also the " Food Truck Invasion".
The Perfect Vodka Amphitheater regularly hosts music and film performances.

The crime rate in 2010 was 217 points (US average: 266 points) in the average range. There were four murders, eight rapes, 17 robberies, 96 assaults, 301 break-ins, 1,191 thefts, 98 car thefts and five arson attacks.
