Margie Goldstein-Engle (born March 31, 1958 in Wellington (Florida) ) is an American show jumper.

In April 2012 she was 54th in the show jumping world rankings.

With over US $ 4,000,000 in prize money in her jumping career, she broke the previous record.

Private

In 1995 she married the veterinarian Steve Engle.

Career

At the Pan American Games in Winnipeg in 1999 , she won the silver medal with the US team.

In 2000 she rode at the Olympic Games in Sydney .

At the Pan American Games in Santo Domingo in 2003 , she won bronze in singles and the gold medal with the US team.

In 2006 she won team silver at the World Equestrian Games in Aachen .

Injuries

In 1991 she broke the bones of her left foot in a riding accident in which she got caught in the stirrup . Although the doctor prophesied that she would never be able to walk normally again, she was already back in the saddle for the following week. Ten weeks after the accident, she rode her first tournament.

In 1992, her horse fell on her during a tournament, whereupon she broke four ribs.

In 1998 she broke her nose while jumping. Although her vision was also severely restricted - she could only see with one eye - she started the next day.

She also fractured her left shoulder, arm, wrist, two fingers, and twice her collarbone .

• 10 × Rider of the Year (1989, 1991, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1999/2000, 2000/2001, 2003, 2005, 2006)
• Equestrian of the Year (1991)

Others

• In 1987 she broke the previous world record with a jump of 2.36 m.
